South African fast Kagiso rabada hit twice on the super to secure the Capitals of Delhi victory over him Kings XI Punjab at the IPL on Sunday.

Rabada limited Punjab to just two runs as the loss of two wickets in the final ended with the team’s only innings.

Earlier, Australian Marcus Stoinis broke a half-century whirlwind in the second game of the Indian Premier League that ended in a draw on Sunday.

Stoinis proved his worth for Delhi, who brought the all-rounder in the December auction, with his 53 of 21 balls to lift the side to 157 of eight after being put at bat in Dubai.

Mayank Agarwal nearly overcame the hitting barrage with his 89 of 60 balls as Punjab approached his goal, but Stoinis claimed two wickets on successive balls in the finale to take the match to a super final.

“It is a strange game, sometimes luck works in your favor, but it is easy to become the villain of the hero. That is why it is important to enjoy good morning,” said Stoinis.

“It’s good that the IPL has resumed and tonight has been great entertainment.”

Delhi was reeling at 87-for-five after captain Shreyas Iyer’s departure when Stoinis came in to demolish the opposition bowls, scoring 57 runs for the side in the last 18 balls.

Stoinis punished England pacemaker Chris Jordan, who gave up 30 runs since the final with the Australian hitting 20 balls before running out of ball on the penultimate ball of the inning.

Indian leader Mohammed Shami returned 3-15 of his four overs for Punjab.

Punjab was struggling when Delhi spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets on his first and only lap before retiring injured with an injured shoulder.

The richest Twenty20 league in the world is played in the United Arab Emirates after being moved out of India due to the increase in coronavirus cases.
