This is the plea of ​​Prince Ngcobo, whose 17-year-old son Mmeli was allegedly abducted in Durban on Monday.

Police are still searching for the boy, although an arrest has already been made.

Police spokesman Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the victim was alleged to have taken a cell phone from her classmate at a school in the Newlands East area on Wednesday.

The classmate did not report the incident to the school principal, but instead informed his parents, Mbele said.

It is understood that the parents went to the school, approached the student without the permission of the principal and asked him to return the phone before Monday.

“On the same Monday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., after the classes ended, the colleague and two adult men approached in a gold or silver Mercedes-Benz. [the victim] and slapped him several times and forced him into the vehicle. The vehicle left in the direction of Castle Hill Drive, “Mbele said.

Ngcobo said she last saw her son on Sunday, before Mmeli returned to school on Monday.

The distraught father said he stays up at night, worried about his son.

“I can’t even sleep. I’ve never been through something like this. It’s very difficult. It’s very difficult,” he said.

Ngcobo described his son as a playful boy. He said that whatever he did, there was no need to kidnap him.

“He has been accused of stealing a phone. I cannot say [whether he did it], it’s a boy. But they should have come to me. I would have paid for the phone, “he said.

“He is not lost. They have taken him. Someone must bring him back.”
