Jurgen Klopp may have criticized rivals Chelsea with a comment to rival teams that success is not just about “bringing quality” during the summer window.
Liverpool’s transfer activity has been cautious so far. The club has signed only one player, although developments could still change before the transfer deadline.
Chelsea, by comparison, have been prolific, signing Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell, and they haven’t finished either after Goal reported they could still sign Edouard Mendy.
Klopp told BBC 5 Live: “We cannot change overnight and say that now we want to behave like Chelsea, now we want to behave like them.”
“Now they have signed many players. That can be an advantage, of course, but that means they also have to fit quite quickly, it’s not just about bringing quality.
“You can’t bring in the 11 best players in the world and I just hope that a week later, they will play the best football they have ever played. It’s about working together in boot camp.
“That will probably be an advantage for us. We have worked together for a long time. “

Both approaches have risk
It is too early to judge both clubs’ transfer business before the season begins, because Liverpool have shown that keeping what you have can be just as important as what you put in after their procession to the title last season.
Liverpool have yet to make a big money signing since the arrival of Alisson Becker in 2018, as the club has since focused on strengthening the depth of the Klopp squad with additions such as Harvey Elliott, Adrian, Takumi Minamino and Kostas Tsimikas. (BBC).
These four signings have come a long way to ensure that Klopp’s options are stacked and that competition for places remains high.
Chelsea has been active and has shown that even in times of financial uncertainty it is possible to be prolific and do business, despite the complexities that currently exist in today’s economic climate.
Frank Lampard has also bought quality. Liverpool themselves were keen to sign Werner before he was deemed financially unbuyable, which Chelsea quickly used to their advantage.
Havertz and Ziyech will also give the Blues another attacking element, while Ben Chilwell is another impressive long-term investment.
The addition of Thiago Silva may be a short-term solution, but considering Chelsea’s recent blatant defensive setbacks, it could be just what they need.
Speaking individually, each of the signings Chelsea have made looks good on paper, but that’s not the point Klopp is trying to make.

Jurgen Klopp has been here before
The German coach is pointing out how long it takes to find your best team and get everyone to join. It is almost an impossible task for Lampard to appease each and every member of the squad considering that he now has many options. Maintaining harmony between the team certainly seems like a difficult proposition.
Then there is pressure on Lampard to get results, as all of a sudden the expectation levels are on a completely different scale considering the manager has spent more than £ 200 million this summer according to TransferMarkt.
While Liverpool have chosen to be more cautious and sensible, this can still be used to Klopp’s benefit. The essence of familiarity should not be underestimated, as the coach has known for some time who his best team is and which players are knocking on the door for his starting eleven career.
It’s good to see Klopp come out fighting as it shows that the boss has faith in his own approach and is confident that it will work again next season. Liverpool have a fight on their hands and the gap at the top appears to be closed, but if there’s one thing Klopp has never failed to do, it’s making sure his team always makes sure his team is ready for the task at hand.
