Jurgen Klopp’s admission of Jadon Sancho will fill Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with dread

Manchester United chose not to sign Jadon Sancho this summer window; a decision could have big repercussions in the future.

The Red Devils had been the favorites to win the England international, and perhaps they themselves were too sure that a deal would come through.

United hoped that, by standing still, Dortmund would blink first and lower its massive £ 108 million valuation for its prized asset.

But BVB proved they were not easy to convince and after United failed to meet the August 10 deadline to make an acceptable offer, Dortmund closed their doors.

Manchester United is ruling out what could have been on Tuesday … and things could be about to get a lot worse.

The Red Devils were favorites to sign Sancho this summer because they had the money to get the line transferred.

Liverpool have always been very interested in the England striker, but this summer he was under pressure to sell before he could buy.

The coronavirus pandemic hit the club hard, and they had no way to raise even close to the 108 million pounds that Dortmund demanded.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about Sancho and admitted: “I don’t think such a transfer will be possible this season.”

Sancho was linked to a signing by Manchester United

As a side note, he added: “The red shirt [of Liverpool] could serve [him] very good.”

As mentioned above, this season was always offside. But next season both United and Liverpool will be on equal footing when it comes to luring Sancho back to England.

And what’s more, reports now claim that Liverpool have overtaken United in the race for the former Manchester City graduate.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t get his man this summer transfer market

According to The Independent, Sancho’s failed move to United has prompted the forward to re-evaluate his options, and he is now seriously considering both Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

If Liverpool beat United with the signing of Sancho next summer, it would shed an even harsher light on the Red Devils’ current transfer model.
