Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have had a greater effect on José Mourinho than he anticipated or even wished that way.
The legendary Norwegian made a lighthearted and fleeting comment after his team’s dramatic and narrow victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
United managed to overcome the hosts 3-2 to death thanks to a penalty that was given after the final whistle by a call from the VAR.
Solskjaer had jokingly said that everyone should be thankful Mourinho wasn’t there to measure the posts or his team wouldn’t have won.
It came after the Portuguese tactician complained that Shkendija’s goal posts were too short, which in turn turned out to be true and had to be adjusted before Tottenham’s eventual 3-1 victory.

Mourinho was clearly still thinking about Solskjaer’s comments and used them as a way to attack him simultaneously as he deflected from his team’s poor performance against Newcastle.
It comes as Manchester United will soon face Tottenham, so it is clear that both coaches are preparing their teams from the start.
Solskjaer has surpassed Mourinho in the past and fans are hoping that he can do so once again, particularly after the Portuguese’s latest comments in the current war of words between the two.
