José Mourinho expects a quiet transfer window in January for Tottenham, indicating that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected their chances of reinforcing the team.
Tottenham signed seven players in a summer window that was widely recognized as a huge success with Mourinho adding quality and depth to his squad.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon have established themselves in Mourinho’s preferred starting eleven and have been among Spurs’ standouts this season.
However, the Spurs still look light on central defense with Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld as the first-choice pair, but beyond that, Davinson Sánchez has fallen out of favor as his performances have declined, while Joe Rodon remains without. experience and is more of a long-term project.

There are also concerns about midfield creativity, as Dele Alli’s drop in stature before Mourinho’s eyes, Erik Lamela’s injury woes and Gareth Bale’s quiet return have left Spurs scoreless from beyond. from the forwards, putting additional pressure on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Spurs have been linked with Real Madrid center-back Sergio Ramos, Inter Milan defender Skriniar and RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer heading into the winter window, but Mourinho says the reality of the situation is that he will have to work with what that you already have.

January is a notoriously difficult month to do business with managers reluctant to let players go, inconsistent appraisals, and no preseason to properly accommodate new individuals into a club.
The Spurs added Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes 12 months ago, while also turning Giovani Lo Celso’s loan deal into a permanent transfer in what was Mourinho’s first window in charge.
