Maggs’ resignation comes 13 months after he resigned as the news channel’s acting editor-in-chief.

He has been in that position for a year and has asked to be relieved of his duties as the stressful nature of the job was negatively impacting him.

This has not been an easy decision, but over the past few months the stressful nature of the job has led me to reassess both my position at the station and my life choices. I have been stressed and ill for some time and I have made this decision in my own interest and that of the station, ”Maggs commented at the time.
