Singer Jennifer Lopez and former New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez canceled their engagement, US media reported Friday.
López, 51, and Rodríguez, 45, had been a couple for almost four years and last year bought a $ 40 million (R597 million) house in Miami.
The pair have not confirmed the breakup reported by the New York Post. Page six Y TMZ.
López was in the Dominican Republic filming a movie and posted on social media Thursday saying “Find a good reason to laugh today.”
Rodríguez, for his part, posted a photo of himself aboard a ship in Florida.
While the news took many fans by surprise, the split had apparently been in the works for a while.
“This has been a long time coming,” said a source. People magazine.
“They’re tied up in their business worlds, so it’s not a short, dry break. It’s taken them a while to even think about untangling it all.”
