Jadon Sancho to Man Utd: Ed Woodward Criticized for “Obviously Obvious” Transfer Error | Soccer Sport

Manchester United have been criticizing for prioritizing Jadon Sancho throughout the transfer period of former midfielder Luke Chadwick. Ed Woodward’s search for the Borussia Dortmund star has been well documented all summer. But, with hours to go, the 20-year-old is unlikely to move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have spent the whole summer chasing Sancho but, with hours left of the transfer window, it seems they are going to miss it.

It will upset fans who are already furious at the club’s hierarchy, who have repeatedly failed to deliver on the transfer front in the past.

United have made no secret of their desire to sign Sancho and he wants to come to Old Trafford, but he has not been able to meet Borussia Dortmund’s asking price, and the Bundesliga giants are demanding £ 110 million for their star man.

And now, former Red Devils star Luke Chadwick has criticized the club for focusing on Sancho, when they clearly need a center back.

United admire Dayot Upamecano but, like Sancho, he has not put money on the table.

And Chadwick told Sports Mole: “From the outside looking in, maybe all the eggs have been put in Jadon Sancho’s basket and that is going to keep people happy for a certain period of time.

Premier League deals: all transfers confirmed in the summer window so far

Ousmane Dembele could move to Old Trafford, but Barcelona want a permanent deal, while Woodward is only willing to negotiate a loan.

Ismaila Sarr is also highly rated at the Theater of Dreams, but Watford is unwilling to let him go for less than £ 40 million.

Meanwhile, former United star Rio Ferdinand recently echoed Chadwick’s comments by expressing his belief that they should seek defensive reinforcements.

“I’ve been drumming for a long time about buying a central medium,” Ferdinand told talkSport.

“It is not going to solve all the problems, but it is one of the biggest. There is no dominant central medium that makes the rival think: ‘I’m going to have to do something today to get some change’.

“You need that if you are going to win anything. Jadon Sancho is a generational talent who is here to stay, so the interest is understood, but for me they need a central defender.

“Upamecano is young, good with the ball, athletic, strong, mobile, he plays every game. It’s one you can see coming right now.

“[Kalidou] Koulibaly has been talked about for two or three years, he could have missed the boat because of his age. There is no resale value.

“Upamecano is the one that jumps at me, when I saw the Champions League last year, he was the one that stood out for me.

“If he signs Jadon Sancho, I think he still has the same problems as last season.”
