It’s time for Jesse Lingard to move on, but £ 30 million seems too good to be true

Finally, there seems to be a bit of an interest in Jesse Lingard.

There has to be. Lingard doesn’t seem to have much of a future at Manchester United.

He hasn’t started a Premier League match since January 1.

Last weekend he couldn’t even make the substitute bench against Crystal Palace, despite being one of the players deemed fit after starting the pre-season friendly the week before.

Now there have been reports linking Lingard to an exit.

The Star claims that former United manager José Mourinho is interested in bringing Lingard to Tottenham.

The report claims that the Spurs are looking for a £ 30 million move for Lingard, and that’s where it seems too good to be true.

Top value

£ 30 million is the most United could hope to receive for Lingard.

But if the club plays tough and refuses to accept less, Lingard is likely to stick around.

If the Spurs make any sense, they will try to bring this deal closer to 20 million pounds.

It is difficult to see the negotiations between Daniel Levy and Ed Woodward going quickly.

Spurs would be a good play for Lingard, as José Mourinho could get the best of him.

At United last season, he scored just one Premier League goal, with no assists, in 931 minutes of football.

Solskjaer has lost faith in him as a regular starter, understandably, and it’s time for Lingard to move on for the sake of his own career.

Getting £ 30m would be a huge surprise, so United will likely have to settle for a lot less.
