The lanky midfield master says he is now concentrating on his new club after being left out of the last squad of the national team.
South African international Bongani Zungu says it is clear that this is not part of Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki’s plans.
The 27-year-old central midfielder has been banned twice from the national team now by Ntseki, who recently announced his latest squad.
Zungu has been rejected for the upcoming international friendly matches against Namibia and Zambia that will take place this week.
The new Rangers FC player hit Ntseki after he removed him from the Bafana squad that was scheduled to face São Tomé and Príncipe in the Afcon 2022 qualifiers in March 2020.
Zungu has now explained that he has made peace with the 50-year-old strategist’s decision as South Africa prepares for next month’s Afcon qualifiers against São Tomé and Príncipe.
“For me it is clear. I am not part of it [Ntseki] vision, part of his plans, “Zungu said in Daily sun.
“Maybe I’m not good enough for your team. There are no hard feelings. I get the message and I respect it.
Then, I will not focus my energies on that. I’m going to focus on my new team and the coach who believes in me. “
Zungu recently joined Rangers from the Scottish Premiership giants on loan from Ligue 2 Amiens.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfield master hopes to play with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who is the Rangers coach.
“It is very nice to hear the words of coach Steven Gerrard … speaking of his faith in my abilities to lead me to such a great club.”
“I spoke with my family. They understand. No hard feelings.”
Zungu has played 29 international matches for Bafana and was among the best players on the team at the 2019 Afcon finals under coach Stuart Baxter.
Baxter was then replaced by Ntseki in August 2019 and the local tactician is tasked with guiding Bafana to the 2022 Afcon finals.
Bafana will face Namibia and Zambia on Thursday and Sunday, respectively, and both matches will be played in Rustenburg.
