Residents of Strandfontein are shocked after a well-known rapper from the area was stabbed to death in his brother’s driveway on Saturday night.
Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk says Chad du Plessis was ambushed by five men shortly after midnight.
“According to reports, around 12.50 a.m. M., The 22-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body on Dennegeur Avenue, Strandfontein, ”says Van Wyk.
“The deceased was about to enter his driveway when five strangers approached him.
“There was an argument in which the deceased was fatally stabbed.”
Chad, CDP, was a member of Beeza CPT, a band of three brothers that had just released a mixtape, titled Definition of a Rockstar.
He had also recently bought a house in Strand.

Strandfontein CPF President Sandy Schuter was on the scene shortly after the murder.
“I was on patrol with Neighborhood Watch when they alerted us to the incident,” she says.
“When we arrived, the victim was still alive. Our volunteer patrollers, who are also first responders, did their best to preserve the life of the victim until EMS arrived.
“Once the emergency medical services arrived, they continued, but unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries.”
Friends on Facebook paid tribute to the rapper and shared messages of support for the family.
Catherine Ronel du Plessis wrote: “Wow, this is super sad news, may God be with your family in this moment of mourning and it is almost as if it was nothing for some people to simply take the life of another person, sad. (sic)”
Sandy said Chad’s parents were active patrols before moving out of the area recently.
“It is very close to home for us because we knew the family. The victim’s father was one of my patrols in Strandfontein, ”he says.
He appealed to residents to help the police solve the case.
Captain Van Wyk adds: “All information at this time is extremely vital in leading the police to successfully arrest the senseless murder of an innocent young man.
“The Strandfontein police are investigating the murder case. There are no arrests yet, the investigation is ongoing. “
