CAPE TOWN – It is not yet clear whether a man arrested for the murder of a Wolseley woman is linked to two other bodies found in the city.
Over the weekend, three bodies were discovered in a local informal settlement.
Police said Monday the suspect was seen dragging the body of a woman identified as Bernadine Frans on Saturday night.
The next day, they called the police to a field and found two more bodies buried in shallow graves.
Community leader Sofia Thomas said the community was in shock.
“The community is very unhappy. The whole community went to the place where Bernie was murdered. That same guy isn’t a Wolseley guy, he’s a guy we didn’t know. “
She added: “This guy, he shouldn’t get bail. There are many children staying in Pine Valley, so we believe that the lives of the children and the lives of all are in danger. Everybody says it looks like he’s a (serial) killer. He laughed when (he sat) in the (police) van and greeted the community. ”
On Monday, Western Cape Police Commissioner Yolisa Matakata visited the site and met with station management.
Potelwa Police Novel said: “The purpose of the visit was to gain a deep understanding of what happened, as well as a sequence of events. The station management, including the leadership of the Worcester police group, briefed her on the investigation and the progress that has been made. “
Detectives are said to be trying to determine if the suspect could be related to the other two bodies, one of which was confirmed to be a woman.
The suspect has been charged with murder, a charge that will appear in court today.
