Audi has given its Q7 a huge upgrade, both in terms of visuals and what goes on under the skin. The new design, Audi says, aligns it with the rest of its Q family of SUVs, but continues to offer a spacious cabin.
To create the spacious cabin, Audi says it increased the length of the Q7 to 5063mm, as well as increasing the width and height to 1970mm and 1741mm, respectively. Audi also claims that the Q7 outperforms its direct rivals when it comes to interior length as well as headroom and elbow room.
Space and power
By default, the new Q7 will offer seating for five passengers, with a cargo space of between 865 and 2050 liters. Power tailgate is standard, including foot-activated gesture control. Audi optionally supplies the rear bench seat plus as part of the Comfort package, allowing all three seats to be moved individually forward / backward and the angle of the backrest adjusted. Owners can also upgrade to a third row seat with two power fold-down seats to turn the Q7 into a seven-seater.
The Q7 will be powered by an engine. This engine, a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo diesel engine, will power the Q7 45 TDI and produces 183kW and 600Nm of torque. 0-100 km / h is dispatched in 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 225 km / h. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Audi Q7 is now available for sale at all Audi dealers in South Africa.
The model range has the following price:
• Audi Q7 45 TDI Quattro Tiptronic R1 328 500
• Audi Q7 45 TDI Quattro S Line Tiptronic R1 388 500
Both models come standard with the Audi Freeway Five-year / 100,000 km Plan, which includes all taxes.
