Durban – Ntombifuthi Meyiwa revealed on Friday that she is afraid of Kelly Khumalo and later criticized reports that the murder weapon used to kill her soccer star son Senzo Meyiwa had been found by police.
In an interview with Newzroom Afrika, an excited Meyiwa called on her son’s spirit to speak up and reveal who the real shooter was.
He added that he was afraid of “that woman,” referring to Khumalo.
He said that the people inside the house at the time were silent while his family suffered.
Senzo was shot and killed in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, on October 26. He was at Khumalo’s home at the time of the shooting.
Meyiwa’s relationship with the singer was a sore point for the family, as she had traditionally already married Mandisa Mkhize.
On Monday, police revealed that five people had been arrested for the murder of Bafana star Bafana and Orland Pirates. Last week, it was revealed that the police had discovered the alleged murder weapon.
Speaking to Newzroom Afrika, Meyiwa said that people should stop lying.
“I’m afraid of him. The same person who still refuses to tell the truth about what happened to my son. My greatest wish is to see the people who killed Senzo arrested and for the truth to come out fully.
” What hurts the most are people who know very well what happened to my son. We know the whole truth, including the killer, but we keep seeing people blatantly lying about what happened to Senzo, “he said.
Meyiwa said the investigation team made up of Police Minister Bheki Cele and Afriforum should be left alone to do their work.
“These high-profile people who are blocking the movement of this case must leave the Bheki Cele team and the AfriForum alone so that this matter can finally be resolved,” he said.
Meyiwa said that the tears her family has cried “are nothing compared to the joy this family is about to experience.”
He said those responsible will want to dig their own graves and bury themselves once they are exposed.
“There will be nowhere to hide,” he said.
He added that he did not believe that the person who was reported to be the man who killed his son was the one who pulled the trigger.
“People should stop playing with us. Senzo, I call you after your mother, my son … wherever you are, let your spirit speak for itself. You know who shot you, you know their names.
Senzo’s father (Sam) unites as the Meyiwa clan and solves this problem. We are tired of being taken for a ride because we have no money, “he said.
He claimed that no one was taking care of his grandson.
“They don’t even care about Senzo’s son, who is being cared for by other people. Enough is enough,” he said.
According to the police, they have a “tight case” against the five.
