“So again, spend the money, yes, he is a great player and yes, take it. But you still have to look for the players that you know will improve your team.
Richards says Van de Beek was a ‘panic buy’
Wright added: “Listen, Donny van de Beek will be a good player for Man United in time because he is a quality player. But is he what they need now?
Also expert Micah Richards agreed with Wright and felt that United bought him for the sake of it.
“Van de Beek, for me, was a panic buy. Has good ability. I’ve seen a lot of clips of him and he’s a good player, but… ”said Richards.
