CAPE TOWN – The Community Policing Forum said Thursday it was doing its part to aid investigations into a family ax murder.
A 42-year-old mother and her five children were found dead in their home in the town of Dabekweni in Kwaaiman this week.
Since then, her husband has disappeared.
The massacre was discovered after neighbors suspected something was wrong and alerted police.
Agents discovered the bodies of the mother and her five children, aged between six months and 10 years.
An ax found at the scene is believed to be the murder weapon.
Velani Mbiza Gola, president of the Eastern Cape Community Police Forum, said they were working with the police.
“We need to make sure they get the necessary support and do whatever it takes because obviously this is a crime. They were the first people on the scene and took the necessary steps with the police. Our job is to support the work of the police to achieve the objective ”.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga, ordered a 72-hour activation plan and the husband is sought.
The murder of the family occurs at the beginning of the 16 days of activism for non-violence against women and children.
