FRANK LAMPARD is set to deliver the Chelsea Premier League debut to Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell as the Blues travel to West Brom tomorrow afternoon.
Chelsea has been spending a ton of money this summer, but the 42-year-old Lampard has yet to get all of his new recruits on board.
But while confirming that Hakim Ziyech remains unavailable with a knee injury, the Blues were bolstered by the inclusions of Silva and Chilwell against Barnsley in the EFL Cup clash midweek.
And Lampard has confirmed that they are both fit enough to start as Chelsea look to get back on track in the Premier League after their humiliating loss to Liverpool last weekend.
One new kid not to appear, however, is Rennes’ £ 22 million recruit Edouard Mendy, and Lampard confirmed that the 28-year-old is still not ready after a hectic week.
But with Kepa Arrizabalaga in a crisis of form and confidence, Willy Caballero is likely to get the gloves, as he did in the 6-0 win over Barnsley.
Reece James appears to have usurped Cesar Azpilicueta as a right-back, and the Spaniard’s experience could be saved for the League Cup midweek derby in Tottenham.
Silva, 36, will be the most suitable to accompany Kurt Zouma, given the height of the French.
And fans will expect Chilwell to start working, though Lampard hinted that he may be cautious given the former Leicester star’s previous injury.
This could potentially open the door for Marcos Alonso.
Jorginho has been linked to Arsenal this week and may be left out, with a trio of midfielders of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ross Barkley giving the go-ahead.
Mason Mount and Kai Havertz will then have a license to wreak havoc, with the latter having achieved a magnificent hat-trick against the Tykes.
Timo Werner is also hoping to get off the mark, particularly with MPs Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham waiting behind the scenes, both having scored mid-week.
