Hilaria Baldwin’s former dance partner Alexander Rechits, who danced competitively with the yoga instructor for three years, says she “always” wanted to be considered Spanish.

Hilaria, Alec Baldwin’s wife, has been accused of faking her Spanish accent and exaggerating his connection to Spain.

The professional dancer said he met Hilaria as Hillary Hayward-Thomas during their time as partners from 2006 to 2009.

“The whole ‘Hilaria’ thing is very funny to me,” Alexander told the New York Times.

“I understand why he did it,” Rechits said, adding that he considered her sweet and talented. “It was always her wish to be considered Spanish,” she said.

Hilaria is reportedly “struggling” after being accused of lying about her heritage and faking her Spanish accent.

“She’s completely upset that people are saying she’s lying,” a source told Us Weekly.
