A selection of drugs allegedly seized from a home belonging to a Teddy Mafia relative.
Heroin capsules worth more than 200,000 rand have been found in a storage facility linked to the murdered Durban drug lord Yaganathan Pillay, commonly known as the Teddy Mafia.
The drugs were discovered during an operation Tuesday by the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Control Office in Durban with Criminal Intelligence and Metropolitan Police officers.
A 41-year-old man was arrested during the operation, said Hawks spokesman Col. Katlego Mogale.

“He was arrested in the Teddy Mafia storage [facility in] Table Mountain Street in Shallcross when police pounced on the scene. The police seized 10,700 heroin capsules with an estimated street value of more than R14,000, “Mogale said.
The man will be charged with drug trafficking and drug possession.
Last month, the police seized drugs worth R130,000 from three houses belonging to the Teddy Mafia.
In January, unknown attackers shot him twice at his home and he died on the way to hospital. Shortly after his murder, two people were beheaded nearby. He was buried during an opulent ceremony and his R300,000 “diamond encrusted” coffin was escorted by bagpipe players.
