It is alleged that on December 13, around 08:00, Williams was abducted by three gang members on Fitchard Street, Helenvale.
Williams’s friends approached the gang members and begged them to release Williams as he was not involved in any gang activity. While negotiating with the gang members, Williams managed to break free and ran.
“Witbooi then fired several shots at the fleeing Williams. He was shot several times and died at the scene,” Naidu said.
Anyone who can help the police locate Witbooi should contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Xolani Sokanyile, at 082 442 2270, Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
