Help the Western Cape Police track down the suspect who allegedly stole film equipment worth millions.

Western Cape Police have asked the public for help in locating a man who allegedly stole an estimated R 4 million worth of equipment from a film crew in Gardens, Cape Town.

A group of suspects pretending to be clients allegedly robbed a camera studio located in Glenville Terrace, Gardens, Cape Town on Friday, November 13 at around 9:15 am, with staff at gunpoint.

“High-quality lenses, cameras and other film-making equipment worth an estimated 4 million rand were brought in and fled the scene in two motorized vehicles, a white Toyota Etios and a brown Toyota Corolla,” said the spokesperson for the police, captain FC Van Wyk.

He said the incident was captured on CCTV cameras and that one of the suspects was recognizable from still images.

A case of theft from a company is being investigated.
