JOHANNESBURG – Hawks spokesman Hangwani Mulaudzi announced his resignation on Monday.

It came after the Democratic Alliance (DA) filed a complaint to Police Minister Bheki Cele about R3 million that he allegedly received from the National Lottery Commission (NLC) to establish a sports center in Limpopo.

Mulaudzi denied any wrongdoing.

“We welcome your resignation in light of the fact that there is sufficient prima facie evidence in the public domain. We also ask that a thorough investigation be completed into his conduct and that the results of that particular investigation be made public, ”said Deputy District Attorney Mathew Cuthbert.
