Speaking at a press conference in Pretoria on Tuesday, a day after posts went viral on social media about the possibility of Ndabeni-Abrahams nudes being leaked, the minister said: “You will surely find mischievous messages between me. husband and I in those WhatsApp messages because we communicate ”.

He said that there was nothing illegal in his messages and that he related to other people on a professional level.

‘Flirting is not illegal’

“I doubt there is [anything illegal]Unless I interpret flirting with my husband as an illegal affair, ”Ndabeni-Abrahams said.

He said his department was investigating the matter.

No stranger to the controversy, in April, Ndabeni-Abrahams received a backlash for a video shared in which she is seen dancing alongside a new BMW.

Also in April, she was suspended for violating lockdown rules when a photo of her having lunch with other people at the home of former vice minister of higher education, Mduduzi Manana, went viral.

They suspended her for two months, took away a month’s salary and forced her to pay a fine of 1,000 rand for pleading.

The public asked for her farewell despite the fact that she apologized for disobeying the blocking rules and claimed that the video of her dancing next to a new car was taken a year ago.

On Tuesday, Ndabeni-Abrahams said she was not surprised by the constant attacks on her.

“They have always challenged and attacked me. The attacks are not new. Whoever is driving this should get on with their work. I don’t have time to focus on that, ”he said.

“I have a serious responsibility to find expression in that [which] President Cyril Ramaphosa gave me the responsibility to make sure to connect people disconnected from SA and to make sure that the Fourth Industrial Revolution presents opportunities for the people of SA. “
