This follows Gordhan’s admission to the State Capture Investigation Commission on Monday that he had no tangible evidence of state capture against some of the people he had previously mentioned as being involved in the state capture.

Bathabile, who is no stranger to the controversy, is perhaps best known for her role in the Sassa grant payments debacle, for which the Constitutional Court found her conduct to be reckless and grossly negligent, in September 2018.
