‘Good to hear’, ‘we miss him’ – some Arsenal fans react when club posts injury update

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney is aiming to resume full training later this week, the Gunners have confirmed.

The 23-year-old was named to Mikel Arteta’s starting eleven for Arsenal’s Premier League meeting with West Ham on Saturday.

However, he was withdrawn at the last minute due to muscle soreness and replaced by Sead Kolasinac when the Gunners claimed a 2-1 victory at Emirates Stadium.

Given Tierney’s injury problems in his first season at Arsenal, there was concern among Gunners fans about the left back’s physical condition.

Arteta sought to allay fears after the game by telling Arsenal’s media team that his player was “fine” and now the Gunners have confirmed that he is adjusting well and aims to return soon.

Many Arsenal fans were pleased with the update and were hoping Tierney would return for the Liverpool game next Monday:

Tierney joined Arsenal last summer from Celtic in a £ 25 million deal, arriving at Emirates Stadium with much fanfare given his heroics for the Scottish Premiership team.

However, the Scottish international, who was suffering from a hip problem when he joined the Gunners, made only 12 senior category appearances before the suspension of English football.

Tierney put his previous troubles behind him after the restart, appearing in every game and becoming one of the first names on Arteta’s team sheet, be it left-back or center-back.
