CAPE TOWN – Golden Arrow Bus Services is desperate to get to the bottom of the recent arson attacks in Cape Town.

The company said a 200,000 rand reward is still being offered to anyone who can help with police investigations.

There have been five arson attacks recently and eight buses burned completely this year alone.

Bronwen Dyke-Beyer of Golden Arrow said that for fiscal year 2020, the vandalism cost the company R31.6 million.

He said they were concerned about the anarchy present in their operational areas.

“These attacks happened in public spaces with many witnesses and therefore we are pleading with anyone with information to come forward. Bus drivers and passengers must be able to travel safely and the South African Police Services has a constitutional mandate to ensure this is possible. “
