CAPE TOWN – An alleged drug dealer spends Christmas weekend behind bars after he was arrested in George for possession of drugs worth more than R500,000.
The 48-year-old man was detained at a home in Zone 5 in Thembalethu on Thursday.
Police Chris Spies: “Illegal drug trafficking took a severe blow when an intelligence-driven operation that was part of the holiday season operations to stamp out drug proliferation on Garden Route resulted in the seizure of drugs worth estimated at R570,000 street. Several police units swooped on the drug sales point. A search was made at the premises and members found large plastic containers with dagga hidden inside. “
The suspect faces drug trafficking charges and will appear in Thembalethu Magistrates Court on Monday.
