Traffic officials said they were on high alert, especially in low-lying regions.
“The heavy rains that Gauteng experienced also led to the destruction of property, with roughly a little more than 10 people losing their lives as a result of road accidents in different areas. In particular, in Sharpeville, in the Sedibeng district, the roof of a global service station collapsed, ”said Seal Maremane, spokesman for the Gauteng Traffic Police.
