Gary Neville has sent a warning to the Manchester United board ahead of the next January transfer window.
After a shaky start to the season, Manchester United are in a fantastic place right now. The Red Devils rank third in the Premier League and will have a chance to finish second when they take on Leicester City tomorrow.
This is an incredible change after the club had lost two of its first three league games of the season, including a 6-1 demolition at the hands of José Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur. However, they are in great shape at the moment and will be favorites against Brendan Rodgers’ team.
And if a title challenge is really in the future for the Red Devils, then it is quite possible that they will try to bring in a couple of players in the January transfer window and fill any gaps in the team. However, Gary Neville has warned them not to buy to buy.
As reported by Sky Sports, the Manchester United legend said:
“If the right player is available, then yes, Manchester United should enter the January transfer market because they need to improve the team.
“But if the player is not there, they will not panic, they have been doing things a little better in the market in recent years.
“What I would say is that Manchester United is a confusing group, two or three weeks ago you looked at this team and thought it would be a tough old season.”

It’s not that good players aren’t available in January. Precisely this year the club recruited Bruno Fernandes and it has turned out to be the best transfer they have made in a long time. The Portuguese international has been an absolute superstar since moving to Old Trafford and could be the best player in the Premier League right now.
Those with good memories will also recall that the Red Devils signed both Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic in January 2006. But despite all those hits, there have also been several flops. The name Alexis Sánchez comes to mind.
So this is some great advice from Gary Neville. The club should only bring in quality players at this time. The equipment looks ready and while there are some gaps, there is no requirement to panic buying.
