The Blues coach has been involved in a fight with Liverpool and Tottenham coaches in recent months

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been praised for “fighting back” after recent clashes on the touchline with fellow coaches Jurgen Klopp and José Mourinho.

Lampard’s last clash came in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup match against Tottenham on Tuesday night, in which he and his former coach Mourinho had words on the touchline.

That followed a heated dispute with Liverpool manager Klopp during a Premier League game in July, an incident Lampard later admitted he regretted.

However, Lampard’s former teammate Trever Siinclair believes the Chelsea manager has little to apologize for and has said his battles on the touchline are an effective way to show his players that he cares.

“I like the fact that Frank stands up for himself. I think he’s his own man, “Sinclair said. talkSPORT.

“He has to be seen by his players and he cares. I think that’s the reaction, from the point of view of the players, I want to see my coach arguing with an opposition coach if he is giving a lot.

“I want to see him defend us like he cares. I think Frank has.

“He is not going for small managers because we have seen it with Klopp. He does not care.

“Frank has done everything in the game as a player. If you want to emulate someone like [Carlo] Ancelotti has to stay firm in the technical area and I think he is doing very well ”.

After Tuesday night’s clash with Mourinho on the bench, Lampard insisted that the confrontation between the two was lighthearted.

“We were having fun on the line. I get along well with Jose and I think he told me that,” Lampard said after the game.

“I commented on the fact that he seemed to talk more to the referee than to his players, so it’s just a moment with us.

“I have great respect for José, no matter what he says on the touchline. I think he was feeling the feeling of the first half and how it was. Everything was fine at the end of the game and that will never change.
