Former Cheetahs hooker Joseph Dweba is among four South Africans to have earned a spot on Dream Team PRO14 for the 2019-20 season.
Media from all five countries, including former players and coaches, voted for Dream Team PRO14. Players were required to have a minimum of eight appearances during the current campaign.
In all, seven teams are represented in the Dream Team selection with Edinburgh leading the way with six selections, the finalists Leinster have three, their opponents Ulster have two players on the team with Dragons, Cheetahs, Benetton Rugby and Cardiff Blues all winning a place each. .

Dweba, who left the Cheetahs for French club Bordeaux mid-season, is one of two South Africans in the group after a phenomenal 2019-20 where the 24-year-old scored seven attempts in 12 appearances.
Loose mainstay Pierre Schoeman, who helped Edinburgh reach the PRO14 semi-finals (where they were beaten by Ulster), is the only other South African among the forwards, as he continues to prove worthy of a spot on the Scotland team when is eligible.
Springbok No 8 Marcell Coetzee missed the selection to Bill Mata of Edinburgh. Ulsterman can be considered unlucky after helping his club advance to the final, where he will face Irish rivals and defending champion Leinster.
Among running backs, Jaco van der Walt has been named as the team’s midfielder after a good season, with him finishing as the fourth-highest points scorer of the season and earning shouts for a call-up for the Scotland team.
Van der Walt’s teammate in Edinburgh, Duhan van der Merwe, who lit up the competition with seven attempts (fifth place), 32 clean breaks (first place), 80 defenders defeated (first place) and 971 meters gained (first place ) is the last South African on the team.
