Four members of a family were injured in a boating incident on the Vaal River Thursday morning, Netcare 911 confirmed.
“Reports indicate that four occupants of a pleasure craft had sustained moderate to severe injuries after colliding with a submerged tree stump, resulting in the expulsion of two children,” said spokesman Shawn Herbst.
Two of the people were treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Those who were seriously injured were airlifted by helicopter to a specialized facility.
In October, an unrelated incident on the Vaal River led to the deaths of five people.
In that incident, a boat carrying seven people sank after an accident. Two people survived, while five were confirmed dead, News24 reported.
