- Western Cape Police said the Flying Squad was looking for a stolen Muizenberg Chevrolet when they noticed the car with five people inside and chased it.
- After the dust had settled, four occupants were treated at the scene and taken to hospital under police surveillance, while weapons and ammunition were taken as evidence.
Four people were injured in a shooting after police pursued a suspected stolen car in Goodwood, Cape Town on Wednesday.
Western Cape Police said the Flying Squad had been searching for a stolen Chevrolet in Muizenberg when they saw the car at Goodwood with five people in it.
The driver accelerated and there was a high-speed chase through the suburb.
“The suspects fired at the police, who retaliated,” said police spokesman Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana.
“Four suspects were shot and wounded, and were taken to hospital under police surveillance for treatment.”
Two firearms and ammunition were taken as evidence.
The group will appear in Goodwood Magistrates Court once charges are filed.
