Four dead, three injured in an accident in KZN.

Four people were killed and three others injured after a head-on collision in Tongaat, north of Durban, on Thursday.
It is alleged that on Thursday at 12:00 at R614 Noordsberg Road, a vehicle was traveling eastbound when it collided with another vehicle, according to police.
When IPSS Medical Rescue arrived, they found that two occupants of a vehicle had suffered fatal injuries.
“Three additional occupants of the same vehicle were critically injured and one patient was seriously trapped in the wreckage,” said Paul Herbst, spokesman for IPSS Medical Rescue.

He said the patient suffered cardiac arrest before being removed and, despite advanced life support intervention, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two people were taken to the hospital, however, one died later.
“Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and the fourth died in hospital,” said police spokesman Colonel Thembeka Mbele.
Two occupants of the second vehicle were said to have been lucky enough to escape with minor injuries.
Umhlali police are investigating a wrongful death case.
