Former Orlando Pirates ‘Micho’ coach arrested in PE

Former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic was arrested in Port Elizabeth before being released on bail.

Micho, as he is affectionately known by the Buccaneers faithful, was arrested by South African authorities on allegations of sexual harassment earlier this week.

The now coach of the Zambia national team was in Port Elizabeth as part of his scouting program with the Zambian U20 team participating in the COSAFA U20 Championship in Metropolitan Nelson Mandela.

“The coach of the Zambia national soccer team, Milutin Sredojevic (51), appeared today in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on charges of sexual assault,” read a statement from the National Tax Authority quoted by Kick-Off .

“It is alleged that earlier this week, on Monday December 7, during the Cosafa Games in Port Elizabeth, a 39-year-old woman was delivering coffee at Wolfson Stadium when she asked Sredojevic if she would need sugar with her coffee.

“He allegedly said no and revealed that he needed another type of sugar while pointing out his private parts. It is alleged that the lady complained to her boss, who in turn warned Sredojevic not to do it again.

“Later that day, the lady went to deliver coffee again at the same stadium and this time Sredojevic allegedly touched her buttocks. He was granted a bond of R10,000 and his next court appearance will be on February 25, 2021 ”.

The former Orlando Pirates coach was charged with a similar incident during 2019 following his departure from the Orlando Pirates. He is scheduled to appear in court early next year after being released on bail of 10,000 rand.
