The Hawks arrested two men on Friday for their alleged involvement in a theft of cash in transit in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, in October last year.

They will join four others who were previously arrested for the theft.

The Hawks said the investigation team tracked intelligence on the suspects, who are former employees of Fidelity Cash Solutions, for their alleged involvement in the theft at Batho Plaza.

“The 30- and 39-year-old suspects allegedly provided crucial information while working for Fidelity, regarding the movements of cash distribution vehicles that subsequently led to excessive thefts of cash in transit in Gauteng,” the Hawks spokesman said, Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu.

The couple were positively linked to the armed robbery and were subsequently arrested in Soshanguve on Friday.

The Hawks also seized a firearm and ammunition for further investigation.

The two men are expected to appear in the Soshanguve regional court on Monday.
