JOHANNESBURG – The state capture inquiry commission is hearing evidence from Eskom consultant Nicholas Linell.
Linell deposed an affidavit that said former South African Airways (SAA) chairman Dudu Myeni called him into a meeting with former chairman Jacob Zuma to discuss Eskom.
And former Eskom board chair Zola Tsotsi confirmed that Linell attended the meeting at Zuma’s residence in KwaZulu-Natal, where Myeni was in charge and Linell was appointed as a consultant.
Linell also drafted a board resolution for Eskom’s board to launch an investigation and suspend executives.
But that same board would later request a vote of no confidence in Tsotsi for reasons, including the irregular appointment of Linell.
