An arrest warrant for Angelo Agrizzi that was authorized last month after he failed to appear for a scheduled appearance at the Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court has been postponed again, this time until early next year.

An arrest warrant for Agrizzi was authorized last month after he was unable to appear in court as a result of his recent hospitalization, but was suspended.

He was not in court again on Thursday, with his attorney, Mannie Witz, saying he was still in intensive care.

Agrizzi and his co-defendants in the case face a series of corruption charges brought against them in connection with alleged unreliable prison tenders that Bosasa and its subsidiaries acquired between 2004 and 2007 to provide catering and training services, to supply television systems and monitoring equipment, and install closed circuit television cameras and perimeter fencing.

Also last month, Agrizzi made his first appearance before the Commercial Crimes Court in Palm Ridge to respond to separate charges of fraud and corruption brought against him in connection with massive bribery that former ANC MP Vincent Smith allegedly received from Bosasa in exchange for his political influence. and protection.

Agrizzi was initially denied bail in that case; Magistrate Philip Venter discovered that it was a flight risk and highlighted the “headache” that the National Prosecutor’s Office (NPA) had when trying to extradite the Gupta brothers. Since then, the South Gauteng Superior Court has annulled it.
