JOHANNESBURG – The NPA said Moroadi Cholota, former ANC secretary general Ace Magashule, had become a state witness.
On Friday, Magashule was charged with 21 counts of corruption and fraud, alternately robbery and money laundering.
He was released on bail of 200,000 rand and will appear again in February.
Cholota appears in the statements of witnesses who appeared before the state capture commission as the center of the transactions of the service providers and Magashule.
And the former prime minister of the Free State has been ordered not to contact her directly or through third parties.
The transactions include various payments from the company of Blackhead director Edwin Sodi, which was awarded the 255 million rand asbestos contract without a bid.
The NPA said that Magashule received amounts that included R53,000, R250,000, and R470,000.
And the State alleges that Magashule did not report corrupt transactions in contravention of Law 12 of 2004 on Prevention and Combat of Corrupt Activities.
