Five Players Who Could Follow Wits’s Hunt

Kaizer Chiefs will hope its transfer ban is lifted soon enough to reclaim some players from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits when the window opens on Monday.

The Estudiantes will not be part of next season in the top flight, despite finishing a respectable fifth in the PSL standings last season.

Bidvest Wits players at stake

This is after the franchise, along with the entire team, was sold to Limpopo businessman Masala Malaudzi, whose Tshakhuma Madzivhandila (TTM) is scheduled for a debut season in South African soccer’s premier division.

Several Wits players have chosen not to move to Limpopo, with players like Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates securing some big names from the team.

Following the transfer of coach Gavin Hunt to Kaizer Chiefs, some of the remaining players could be pushed away from TTM over the prospect of reuniting with their former mentor.

Sifiso Hlanti – defender

One player who has long been linked to Kaizer Chiefs is defender Bafana, who recently parted ways with TTM.

Recent events have opened the door to move to one of the “big three”, Amakhosi being the most likely candidates for his services.

Cole Alexander – midfielder

After playing a role in the Kaizer Chiefs bottling the league title with his crucial late draw in one of the first games in the bubble, Alexander could find himself wearing the colors of a club that he once haunted.

Info Nange – midfielder

With the departure of George Maluleka, Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield was evidently in short supply, and he could use a little strengthening.

It was inevitable that Amakhosi would bond with more players from that department, including Pathutshedzo Nange, who impressed in his debut season at Wits.

Thabang Monare – midfielder

Another midfielder linked to a move by Amakhosi is Monare, who is reportedly a longtime target.

The player, along with Hlanti, received authorization to find a new club and could finally appear in Naturena before the new season.

Buhle Mkhwanazi – defender

Bafana defender Buhle Mkhwanazi is another Bidvest Wits star who might be poised to move on to Naturena.

Shortly after the sale of Wits, ties with the club began to gather strength and new reports have emerged following Hunt’s move to Kaizer Chiefs.
