JOHANNESBURG – The Unemployment Insurance Fund says it will resume COVID-19 TERS payments on Monday.
Payments were suspended two weeks ago when the Auditor General pointed to lax controls on who qualifies for relief.
The FIU says it has now fixed the issues and is ready to go.

The fund has scheduled multiple payment runs for the remainder of the week to speed up payments.
The FIU says it regrets the inconvenience.
“We are aware that many workers across the country have been left behind as a result of the need to ensure our systems stand up to scrutiny and we close the gaps identified by the Auditor General. We are pleased to have turned things around for what we believe it to be. Fast time and our systems are ready to make a difference in workers’ lives again, “said Marsha Bronkhorst, acting commissioner of the FIU.
