Newcomers to DStv Premiership, TS Galaxy, have confirmed that head coach Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela has been fired with immediate effect.
Malesela’s TS Galaxy have earned just seven points in their first eight games since buying Highlands Park’s top flight status and are in 13th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
TS Galaxy confirmed Malesela’s departure on Sunday night, this comes after they lost points for the sixth straight game when they lost 3 – 2 against Cape Town on Saturday.

“TS Galaxy FC parted ways with manager Dan Malesela after a series of poor results in which the club failed to win a match in the last six Dstv Premiership games.” reading a club statement.

“The decision to part ways with coach Dan was not easy, as he has a rich history with our club. Unfortunately, football is a results-driven business and decisions like this can only be based on results rather than history, ”said club boss Tim Sukazi.
“Coach Dan will always be highly regarded at our club and his name will remain well documented in our history books. Coach Zipho will be our head coach in the interim. All I can do is wish him well because he deserves the opportunity to take over as head coach of TS Galaxy permanently, but only time will tell. He is a very good coach who I think has potential that has yet to be realized at the top level of the game.
“Coach Zipho will be assisted by Coach Esau Mtsweni, who has been in the same role for quite some time. We believe that there is a good synergy between the two coaches that could bring success to our Club ”.
Early reports suggest that TS Galaxy will consider both Eric Tinkler and Owen Da Gama as the long-term replacement for Malesela. Galaxy will play Baroka FC on January 5, 2021.
