the Premier Soccer League (PSL) the board of governors will meet at the end of the month to discuss the best way to complete the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season.

All sports activities were suspended last month as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent blockage.

Speculation about how to start playing again has been circulating, with the possibility of playing behind closed doors suggested earlier.

But in an interview with the website, the president of PSL Irvin khoza He said any decision depends on government guidelines.

He said: “The executive will meet on the last Thursday of this month to discuss how we will move forward.”

“Our biggest challenge is how to finish the league. Fortunately, we have FIFA’s guidance that for any resumption of any activity, the government must give it the go-ahead.”

He added: “We have not discussed scenarios with our members. The most important thing (at our last meeting) was to address the issues of how we use our voices to help the government flatten the curve.”

“That is why at our meeting we said that we expected to finish before June 30. But FIFA has come up with new guidelines that leagues can be extended until the end of July. As it stands our wish is to end the season.”
