Cheslin Kole didn’t leave much time to make his mark on the new Champions Cup season with this scandalous try against Ulster tonight.

In a rain-ravaged Kingspan Stadium, Toulouse took on the Northern Irish heavyweights in a match that many predicted would be a cautious and grueling affair.

They couldn’t have been more wrong.

The first half was a fierce competition with both sides throwing caution into the considerable Belfast wind. We watched the hosts take the lead through a well-worked driving maul from 7m. Fans praised the contribution of Ireland winger Jacob Stockdale for an effective job in helping his side pass up close.

Then Ulster struck again soon after with what critics were calling an early contender for the try of the season.

We see how they execute a movement outside the attack scrum while throwing it from left to right. It really was an exceptional team attempt – check out the sensational score below.

The moment that really stole the headlines came later in the first half when Springbok winger Cheslin Kolbe produced a moment of magic to bring Toulouse back to the competition.

Fans on social media were raving about this terrific World Champion effort after this.

Check out Cheslin Kolbe’s amazing solo attempt at the video link below.

We observe how the ball is thrown wide from left to right so that Kolbe goes wide to the right.

There seems to be nothing with five Ulster defenders communicating well to cover for Kolbe, who is still within his own half.

He confronts the retreating Ulster men, easily overtaking them before moving on to pursue them.

On Kingspan’s soggy turf, Kolbe can still run past four defenders who are running backwards to get to the ball and somehow manages to rally before rolling under the grip of opponent half-flyer Ian Madigan.
