SOCIALITA Michelle Amuli, affectionately known as Moana, will be buried in the Muslim way, her father declared yesterday, despite the chaos, family dispute and drama that characterized her wake.
A church service that was scheduled for yesterday afternoon had to be canceled because her father, Mr. Ishamel Amuli, stood firm.
Moana was killed in the horrific accident that also claimed the lives of socialite Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure, Malawian businessman Limumba Karim and Mozambican model Alicha Adams.
Moana (26) is expected to be buried at the Zororo Cemetery along Seke Road this afternoon. His funeral was supposed to take place yesterday at the Doves Funeral Home in Harare following a successful DNA identification.
It took the family about three hours to agree on burial arrangements, but it was Amuli’s decision that prevailed.
As the family booed, a series of events unfolded throughout the day where people gathered to witness the funeral procession.
Motorcyclists who were parked outside the hall to escort the hearse caused a stir as people jostled to take pictures.
The Prophet Passion Java, who had come for the funeral, took some time to meet with his fans who were looking to catch a glimpse of him. He later ignited a fight when people jostled to get their hands on the $ 20 bills he was handing out.
