CAPE TOWN – The Hawks in the Western Cape arrested two people in Montague Gardens on Friday after discovering a hydroponic cannabis lab.

Zinzi Hani of the Hawks said authorities were responding to an advisory when two suspects were seen leaving the facility and loading a black container into a vehicle.

“They were immediately detained and the police requested a vehicle search. Dagga was allegedly found hidden in the black container inside the vehicle. The suspects were arrested and a subsequent search of the facility revealed several black pots containing more than 700 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of 1 million rand. ”

The suspects are due to appear in Cape Town Magistrates Court on Monday.
