Luc eymael says he’s surprised by the South African Football Association (SAFA) try to block your date on Chippa united.
The former Free State Stars boss was announced by the DStv Premiership club on Wednesday after they parted ways with Lehlohonolo Seema following a losing streak of results.
While Eymael refuted claims that he officially signed with the Chilli Boys, the Belgian coach has now responded to SAFA’s stance against him.
The football body is opposed to allowing Eymael to return to work in South Africa after he was reportedly fired from his last job as head coach of the Young Africans club in Tanzania over racism.
But Eymael has criticized those claims, telling FARPost: “Yes, I read the SAFA statement. My lawyer wrote to SAFA a month ago after they issued a statement (in July). I am very surprised that they never sent me anything.
“Why didn’t SAFA let me know? And on what basis is SAFA making a decision? What basis? What criteria does it have? I have worked for 10 years in Africa and have never had a problem.
“Do you think for a minute if I had been racist, I could have stayed 10 years in Africa? It’s impossible. I’m very surprised because it’s like political interference, you know.
“I have all the evidence on my phone that the big boss of Yanga recommended Azam to me. So how can you recommend Azam (Tanzanian club) if I am a racist person? If I really did bad things in Yanga?
“I tell you I never said those words, that’s first of all. I was never found guilty, I never went to a DC and I never had a contract termination letter (from Yanga). I never received any contract termination. Letter.”
