Eskom is looking for low carbon solutions to reuse the
coal-fired stations that are scheduled for decommissioning, according to tender
documents.
The state power company has released an expression of
interest in the proposals, focusing on their Komati, Grootvlei and Camden coal
plants, to reduce “their environmental impact through the establishment of
sustainable low-carbon industries in previous carbon-intensive power plants. “
