Mohamed Elneny and Mohamed Salah appeared when Arsenal beat Liverpool in the fourth round of the EFL Carabao Cup after winning 5-4 on penalties.

In the 8th minute, Nketiah found himself alone inside the penalty area, but Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian was able to block the angle of the forwards’ shot.
Five minutes later, Diogo Jota delivered an accurate cross into the 18-yard box to Marko Grujic, whose first shot went wide.
Minamino almost opened the scoring just before the break. Jota’s initial header was stopped by Leno, the ball went to the Japanese international within the six-yard box but his shot hit the post.
In the 61st minute, Salah was replaced by Divock Origi, while Elneny came in seven minutes later to replace Dani Ceballos.
In the 70th minute, Rob Holding caught a cross from Nicolas Pepe with a powerful header, but Adrian brilliantly denied his effort.
The referee finally whistled the full time and the game immediately went to penalties.
Each side made their first two shots before Elneny missed the Gunners’ third chance. However, Liverpool’s lead didn’t last long as Origi missed the next shot.

The penalty shoot-out then went to sudden death. Harry Wilson missed Liverpool’s shot, Joe Willock stepped up and squeezed the ball under Adrian’s arms to send Arsenal into the quarter-finals.
The first games will begin on December 21 and teams are expected to discover their opponents in the next few hours.
